NYRA Thanks Floral Park Memorial High School for Clothing Drive to Benefit the Backstretch Community

NYRA wishes to thank the National Junior Honor Society of Floral Park Memorial High School for hosting a clothing drive for the backstretch community during their Homecoming Day festivities on October 20th.
Chaplain Humberto Chavez of the Race Track Chaplaincy of New York arrived at the high school with his van to collect over 75 bags of clothing! I was pleased to join him along with Floral Park Memorial High School Principal, Kathy Sotille, Floral Park Village Administrator, Patrick Farrell and Floral Park Village Trustee, Dominick Longobardi.
NYRA is delighted to work with this wonderful group of students who are planning a food drive for the winter and a book drive for the spring.
We thank them for a most impressive community outreach!

NYRA, Kiaran's Kids and Gateway Youth Outreach

NYRA was proud to recognize the work of Gateway Youth Outreach of Elmont and celebrate three years of the Kiaran's Kids program. Each week, children in the program are provided with a behind the scenes experience of what it takes to care for thoroughbreds and condition them for the races.
NYRA thanks Kiaran McLaughlin and Artie Magnussen for their outreach and support!

NYRA and Kiaran's Kids were proud to welcome New York State Senator Jack Martins and Town of Hempstead Councilman Ed Ambrosino who stopped by Belmont Park to meet the children and hear first hand about their experiences.
